Handy Hints – Preserving
I was looking for an Anzac Biscuit recipe after being inspired by Lorri’s Life Anzac Biscuits she made the other day. I also didn’t have my computer on when I went to make them; so this recipe ~found only yesterday, was in a old town 1990 recipe book put together by some local wives and mothers…… hope you enjoy!
Be careful in your selection & do not choose too young.
When you select, give your entire thoughts to preparation for domestic use.
Some insist in keeping them in a pickle.
Others are constantly getting them in hot water.
This may make them sour, hard and sometimes bitter.
Even poor varieties may be made sweet, tender and good by garnishing them with patience.
Sweeten with love and season with kisses.
Wrap them in a mantle of charity, keep them warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion and serve with peaches and cream.
Thus prepared they will keep for years.
