  1. Olive oil
  2. 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  3. Shallots
  4. Fresh parsely or dried
  5. 2 crushed garlic cloves or two teaspoons mince garlic
  6. 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  7. 1 kg of beef mince
  8. 2 eggs
  9. 2 tablespoons mustard
  10. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  11. ¾ cup tomato paste or pasta sauce
  12. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Optional Extras
  1. Grated carrot, zucchini. Other vegetables can also be added.
  1. In a frying pan, cook the garlic and onions in a little olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl add the mince, eggs, breadcrumbs cooked onion and garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and ½ cup of the tomato paste/sauce. (if also added extra vegetables, as these as well). Mix entirely and put into a creased or baking paper lined tray.
  3. With the ¼ cup of tomato paste/sauce left, mix in the brown sugar and spread this over the top of the meatloaf mould.
  4. Place into a 180 - 200C oven and cook for 1 hour or when meatloaf is browned and comes away from sides of the tray.
  1. Can be eaten with good old tomato, barbeque sauce or gravy.
